A MEYER DAVIS PROJECT
POINT DUME RESIDENCE
Designer & Project Lead
In 2018, Meyer Davis completed the acclaimed renovation of the Four Seasons Houston lobby, including the now-iconic Bayou & Bottle, affectionately referred to as “Houston’s living room.” The challenge was to create a series of spaces with distinct identities that still felt cohesive alongside the firm’s earlier work.
While Bayou & Bottle draws a mix of locals and visitors, the hotel has become the preferred home base for touring musicians, comedians, and professional sports teams visiting the Bayou City. To elevate the guest experience, we introduced a new layer of programming: a true speakeasy, designed to complement a new Richard Sandoval restaurant.
The main bar features a cantilevered structure clad in blackened metal and onyx, while the dining room is anchored by twin fluted-column fireplaces and a series of display vitrines. The speakeasy, hidden behind a classic bookcase or accessed discreetly through the kitchen for VIPs, is centered around a glowing stone back bar, plush leather bar die, and a dramatically lit ceiling that riffs on the traditional coffered motif with a futuristic edge.
